Assembly Instructions for the Platform Pro:

UNPACKING and Assembling Foam Padded Cross Bar Support Version of Platform PRO:  (See Above Video and Figures 1 & Figure 2)

1        Before assembling Platform PRO®, please verify your ladder’s outside rail-t0-rail outside dimension does NOT exceed 16 ½ inches.  If it does, please repackage and return it to Platform PRO, Inc.

2        Open Box, Remove Platform PRO® and Bubble Wrap

3        Place Platform PRO® upside down on Bubble Wrap on smooth, level surface.

4        Remove two (2) Crutch-Tipped Support Tubes – Inner from either side of platform by cutting off four (4)Wire Ties.

5        Remove two (2) Brace Tube Adjust Bolts.

6        Extend Brace Tube – Outer, so that the second hole from the unpainted end is aligned with the Brace Tube -Inner hole.

a)    Once aligned, reinsert the Brace Tube Adjust Bolts through washers and secure, finger-tight, with Lock Nuts.

7        Repeat Steps 5 – 6 with Support Tube – Inner to obtain desired distance from wall.


Shipping Configuration:

  1. Remove Platform Pro® from box.
  2. Lay Platform Pro® on its back on top of bubble wrap.
  3. Locate Crutch Tip Legs wire tied to inside support rail.
  4. Clip two (2) Wire Ties off each Crutch Tip Leg.
  5. Remove Crutch Tip Legs.
  6. Remove Foam Bumper Crossbar from front of Platform Pro® by:
    1. Removing the two (2) Shipping Bolts from Support Tubes.
    2. Removing Foam Padded Crossbar from Platform Pro® Assembly.
    3. Install both Crutch Tip Legs into each Support Tube  &:
      1. Position Crutch Tip Legs needed distance from Platform Pro®.
      2. Reinsert two (2) Support Tube Adjust Bolts in Support Tubes & wrench-tighten

ASSEMBLY TO LADDER: (See Brochure Cover, Figures 2 & 3 and Video)

1        Loosen Thumb Screws in the two (2) Rod Collars and remove the two (2Rod Collars.

2        Remove both Rung Rods from Platform PRO®.

3        Place customer’s extension ladder securely on its back on a flat surface; and extend the ladder’s upper extension at least three (3) rungs.

4        Position Platform PRO® so that the Platform Assembly is standing vertically – straddling the ladder’s rails (rail outside-to-outside dimension = 16 ½” Max) and even with the ladder’s top rung.

a)    Turn the ladder on its side.  Align the large hole of each Support Tube, straddling the extension ladder rails, with the hollow rung.

1)     Insert one (1) Rung Rod through the aligned hole, the hollow ladder rung and finally through the Support Tubeon the opposite side.

2)    Replace the Rod Collar on the end of the Rung Rod; and finger-tighten the Thumb Screw.

b)    Position the Brace Tube – Outer on the outside of the ladder rails, aligning the hollow rung, one (1) rung below the Platform’s level.

1)     Repeat Above Steps 4a.1 – 4a.2 

c)     Position Platform PRO® such that its top surface creates a 70˚ angle with respect to the ladder rails that extend above the platform; re-insert the two (2) Brace Tube Adjust Bolts and finger-tighten ¼”lock- nuts on bothBrace Tubes – Outer.

5        Stand Ladder against a wall to assure that the ladder’s slope with respect to the ground is 70 degrees.  At that angle Platform PRO® will be level.

a)    Once all angles are acceptable, wrench-tighten the four (4) Locknuts.

 


Crutch-Tip Stand-off Assembly
(use for solid – brick, concrete, wood – walls)
See Figure 3

  1. Remove Platform Pro® from box.
  2. Lay Platform Pro® on its back on top of bubble wrap.
  3. Locate Crutch Tip Legs wire tied to inside support rail.
  4. Clip two (2) Wire Ties off each Crutch Tip Leg.
  5. Remove Crutch Tip Legs.
  6. Remove Foam Bumper Crossbar from front of Platform Pro® by:
    1. Removing the two (2) Shipping Bolts from Support Tubes.
    2. Removing Foam Padded Crossbar from Platform Pro® Assembly.
    3. Install Crutch Tip Legs into  Support Tubes on either side ofthe Platform Pro®:
      1. Position Crutch Tip Legs needed distance from the front edge of the plastic platform.
      2. Reinsert two (2) Support Tube Adjust Bolts in Support Tubes & wrench-tighten.
